Sweet Summer Memories

I always try to make a card for one of my favorite challenges ; The inspiration Picture challenge at Jay Gees Nook but I think I must have been away when Judith posted about it because it was in the reminder post that there are only a few days left that I saw the fabulous challenge pictures - think you know by now that I LOVE kraft!(-:. So when I got some time last night I hurried to make this card inspired also by the great sketch at The Craft's Meow.

I will also enter this for the challenge at The Kraft Journal which is; Use any Sketch
and the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp
Have a great week-end, hugs, Karin

Thanks!

There are some wonderful colors to play with if you want to join Embellish Magazines color trends challenge! I was inspired as soon I got the picture in my e-mail inbox.
I was also inspired to make another card for Moxie Fab World's Thank You challenge -poor Cath must be tired of visiting my blog by now...
I stamped my bg with Magical bg from Hero Arts and then dry embossed it with a polkadot folder from Provocraft.
Stamps are from Waltzing Mouse stamps and Lawn Fawn.

Also I just have to show you something I thought was such a fun coincidence and something that shows how small the world is after all.
The other day Kim Huges at Paper Smooches posted a fantastic piece of art - a portrait of a man she had painted in -88 when she was 17 - it is stunning - but that was not the only reason my mouth dropped to the floor - in -86 when I was 15 I had made a drawing of exactly the same man. I couldn't really believe what I saw. I've painted and drawn a lot since but I think my mum must have liked it because she put it in a frame and it has been up since - so it is a very "well known" drawing in my family (-:

Mine isn't nearly as good as Kim's - I just thought it was so fun that we, oceans apart had seen something special in this man's face when we were young so had to ask my mum to take a picture of it so I could show it here;

(Kim told me the photo was from an article in National Geographic which I had totally forgotten)

I was also inspired by this challenge:
Penny Black and More - Summer Blooms
Samuel Taylor's Challenge - Use die cuts

Have a great day, Hugs, Karin

Make a sweet case for your tissues!

Hi Everyone!

I recently went to an exhibition at Liljevalchs called; The 100 year jubilee of Hemslöjden (Swedish Handicrafts) and saw the sweetest little case for your tissues (paper handkerchieves). (I personally hate when there are just a few left in the plastic cover - no matter how beautiful the wrap is) so I went straight home and made my own version of it with a fabric design using some of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamps (-: I think this is a great little Thank You gift that will fit perfectly inside a Thank you card (therefore I'm entering it in the Moxie Fab World Stamp It - Thank You challenge (-: .

Today I'm sharing the full tutorial and pattern for it on Lawnscapings challenge blog! Please check it out!

Have a great day, hugs, Karin

2nd Anniversary

Today, two years ago I married the best man in the world! We had the most wonderful weddingday at our favorite spot in the whole world; Helgumannen on Fårö (Fårö is a small island north of Sweden's largest island Gotland on the east coast). I LOVE these fishermen's huts - so beautiful and picturesque no matter what the weather is like. (by now, maybe you recognize them from somewhere too (-; ).

Little Ted, eager to serve us more champagne (-: !

At the restaurant Furillen with out witnesses Willy and Petra.

Breakfast at the coolest hotel we know; Furillen
and the Menue and Place cards (little boxes of heratshaped chocolates)

We are celebrating in Stockholm today, maybe I'll share some pictures next week of our favorite places there!

Have a great day, hugs, Karin
